Invitation to Judge at the River Valley Regional Science Fair (RVRSF) 2015

Judges required:  25-30, April 17, 2015

Science East is in the process of recruiting judges for the River Valley Regional Science Fair (RVRSF) being held at UNB in Fredericton, April 17, 2015. Judging for our Regional Fair will take place Friday, April 17, 2015 from 10:30 am – 4 pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. The River Valley Regional Fair is a great way to get ready for judging at the Canada Wide Science Fair taking place at UNB, May 11-16, 2015!

Our goal is to ensure that the best projects at the RVRSF receive medals, regardless of the type of science that the project focuses on. All projects will be judged for medals against all others in their grade category – junior or senior. The junior category comprises grades 6-8 while the senior category comprises grades 9-12.

Several days before the fair, judges will receive project summaries for the approximately six projects they will be judging. On the day of the fair, judges will work independently to assess the assigned projects then work as a group to compare notes with others judges to arrive at the gold, silver and bronze medal winners. All judges work together to determine the 3 Grand Prize Winners who will compete at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Fredericton from May 11th -16th, 2015.

To help assign judges to projects, we are asking judges to “Login/Register” through the River Valley Science Fair registration website at: http://secure.youthscience.ca/sfiab/rivervalley/

A popup window or webpage may tell you that you are entering a secure website, please click on the “Proceed Anyway” or “Allow” button.

This program automatically assigns projects to judges based on the comfort level indicated when registering and we review the assignments making small changes as necessary. Every effort is made to match judges with projects they may be interested in. The more information you provide, the better able we are to make these matches.

If you were a judge in previous years, you need only activate your account and verify the information in our system is correct. Your username is your email address. If you forget your password or have a problem logging in, send me an email and I will assist you.

Please let me know if you are interested and able to help out or if you require more information. You can begin by registering yourself as a judge at the website listed above.

Note: For information about judging at the Canada Wide Science Fair, please contact Ben Newling at bnewling@unb.ca.

Hope to see you at the River Valley Regional Fair April 17, Toole Hall, UNB Fredericton!
