You can tell it’s September: all kinds of events are starting up!  The Faculty of Administration at UNB in Fredericton has brought this public lecture to our attention.  They are excited to be having Lynne Ellyn visit their faculty and students and are pleased to be able to share her knowledge and observations with others.

Lynne Ellyn, a Fellow of the Cutter Business Technology Council and a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium’s Business Technology Strategy practice, will be delivering a lecture at UNB on the topic of Neuroscience and Leadership. The presentation will take place on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Kent Auditorium of the Wu Conference Centre on the UNB Fredericton campus.

Neuroscience research is revealing the secrets of brain chemistry, attention, motivation, learning, and performance. Lynne’s presentation will cover some foundational material from brain research and will then look at how we can apply this knowledge to the way we lead groups in both personal and organizational environments.

Lynne recently served as the Senior VP and CIO at DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide, where she led an organization of approximately 800 people who provide IT strategy, development, and operations for all of the DTE Energy companies. She also served as corporate officer and member of DTE Energy’s Executive Committee as well as on the board of its charitable foundation. In addition, she is on the board of the Henry Ford Hospital Foundation and spearheaded the Women’s Initiative for the United Way at DTE Energy, focusing on early childhood literacy. When she retired from DTE Energy in 2011, Lynne began post-graduate work in the Neuroscience of Leadership with Middlesex University. (You can read more about Lynne here: http://www.cutter.com/meet-our-experts/ellynl.html).

Lynne’s presentation on Neuroscience and Leadership is part of the MBA Professional Development class at UNB and is open to the public.  This presentation will take place on Friday, September 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Kent Auditorium of the Wu Conference Centre. A networking reception will follow. Please RSVP by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 12 by emailing fba@unb.ca or calling 453-4869.
