Science East is co-hosting the Gagetown TekFest with Gagetown School and would like to extend an invitation to Women in ICT. We are inviting groups and organizations to participate with an interactive booth for the evening.

The Gagetown TekFest will take place on Thursday, May 10th, 2012. This will be a night of hands-on fun and excitement for local families while learning about some different areas of science and technology. Exhibitors are encouraged to provide hands-on displays or specimens (feel free to contact us if you need help with ideas for your display). The goal is to give youth the chance to handle and see the different tools and technologies used by professionals within their area.

One of the main objectives of this event is that science is involved in all jobs in one form or another. By Middle School, students have already begun to think about what they might pursue as a career. These events provide youth of this age an experience that will help them make informed choices towards their future.

The Gagetown School is located at 6 Loomcroft Lane Gagetown N.B. The school gym will be open and ready for set-up at 5:00pm. The doors are open for the public between 6:00 – 7:30pm.

If you are interested in sending someone to participate, please complete the attached Partnership Form at your earliest convenience and either email it or fax it to Science East at your earliest convenience.
